There is so much going on in the world right now; so much competing for our attention and focus. In this time where the world wants to pull your mind in every direction; focus becomes a spiritual duty. Focus is one way in which we honor our being and protect the sanctity of our energy. Focus is a livity (way of life). A practice of remembering what truly holds meaning and choosing to place our attention with intention and love.
The wandering mind is a sign that our systems are overwhelmed and that they are seeking a safe space to rest and ground. When our environment is loud and demanding, when too many unseen burdens weigh down the heart, when your brain seems filled to the max and your spirit feels scattered; this is when focus becomes shaky.
To focus, you must create space
Before the mind can attempt to focus, the spirit first needs room to breathe. Get centered. Breathe deeply focusing only on the breath. Allow any and all thoughts to come and go; don't dwell on any one thought; just maintain focus on breathing in and exhaling out.
This is not neglecting thoughts.
This is alignment.
Focus is Presence, Pure and Simple
Focus is presence. It is choosing to be fully aware with what the Most High has placed before you.
When you prepare food; prepare with love.
When you speak; speak with clarity.
When you rest; rest without apology.
Focus will help grow these simple acts into wholehearted living.
The Blessing of a Focused Mind
As you strengthen in this sacred discipline you will notice subtle but powerful shifts:
thinking becomes clearer
the heart becomes calmer
decisions become more aligned
your spirit feels more spacious
each day pass with more grace
connection between self and The Most High deepens
Life will stop feeling so rushed and begin to feel righteous, peaceful and ordered.
Be gentle while building focus. Do not think so much on perfection just keep returning again and again to your center. Guide yourself back with love and compassion each time you find yourself distracted or not focused.
Remember focus is not about doing more. It is about living more consciously, more sacredly and in tune with the divine rhythm of your life.
Give thanks for life.
