monthly inquiry: SERVICE

What are you being called to give? What does it mean to serve?

SERVICE

Service asks us to consider what we do with what we have; our knowledge, our skills, our resources, our attention, and our presence. We often think of service as something we give to others, but true service also requires us to understand what is ours to give and what is not. It asks us to pay attention to the needs around us without losing sight of our own responsibilities and limits. This month, we consider where our contribution is needed, how we can be of genuine use, and whether the ways we give are rooted in intention rather than obligation. What can you offer? Who or what might benefit from it? And what does it look like to serve without diminishing yourself in the process?
